Graduation and New Car

I graduated on Thursday (with Alyssa, Soraya, and Anthony!). On Friday, I bought a new car (2007 Accord), which I picked up this morning (they had to get the color I wanted from Jax). I'm really excited! Here are a few pics from the graduation and a few of my new car.

The semester is going well. It's been very stressful, but I really like my classes, so the ridiculous hours feel well-spent.

Kacee got married last weekend. I was in her weddings (matron of honor). It was beautiful. She's in the middle of her honeymoon right now; I'm sure she's having a blast. Mike, Anthony, and Bob spent some of the wedding watching the game, which we lost, :( so they kept me updated!

Tonight is the Project Runway finale. I am so excited.

I have nothing else to say. I hope you all are enjoying life.

Wedding Post #3

The Reception

Okay, after my skirt was bustled and I finished my screwdriver, it's all kind of a blur, but I will do my best. We were all introduced by Troy, our WONDERFUL DJ who didn't play a single bad song the entire night, and Anthony and I had our first dance to "Better Together" by Jack Johnson. About half-way, Troy invited others to dance with us. The Stranahan Room was preset with the marina martini, a fruit cup in a sugar-rimmed martini glass and drizzled with Grand Marnier, so we sat down to eat. Soon after, Keith gave his toast. He gave an excellent toast, light-hearted, warm, honest... I liked it a lot, and there were plenty of opportunities to laugh at Anthony. Then Kacee gave her toast, which had me in tears in seconds. I seriously thought I wouldn't be able to hold it together when she got to the part about coming to Plantation an only child but finding a sister (gosh, I'm starting to cry just thinking about it now).

A tropical caesar salad (tradition caesar with mango and banana-nut croutons) followed the martini. At some point, the photographers pulled me and Anthony out to take some photos outside since we missed that op earlier thanks to the limo driver. At some point, we also had the parent dances, and I danced with my dad to Aerosmith, "Don't Wanna Miss a Thing," cuz I'm cheesy like that, and Anthony dances with him mom to I don't remember what. We then had an intermezzo, grapefruit sorbet in a hollowed orange.

For dinner, I had mahi mahi and Anthony had the chicken piccata. Most people had the steak. Everyone loved the food. Anthony knocked over his champagne flute on my skirt. Thank god for lead crystal. The glass did not break. I would have been very upset. After dinner we went out on the dance floor. Anthony was SO drunk. I kept on taking drinks away from him (there are some really funny pictures of it), but new ones kept appearing in his hands. I danced with Mr. Beasley, which made me so happy. I'm so glad he came. The only people who didn't show were Dr. Watson, one of my mom's coworkers (we still don't know what happened with him) and Generosa's husband Dave. I had a great time dancing with all my girlfriends, with my family, with the groomsmen, with Anthony when he could stand... I really enjoyed myself. Desert was a tartufo (basically a ball of ice cream dipped in chocolate), and it was super tasty.

I demanded of Anthony that he not smush cake in my face, but he didn't seem to heed my warnings. I had to grab his hand and direct it to my mouth, and then when we were kissing he went in with some cake to my forehead. I got him back and he is very lucky the cake didn't get in my hair or on my dress. Then we did the bouquet toss. Sam caught it. My brother caught the garter. He was very polite putting it on Sam's leg. I never got around to eating my cake, but I had a bite of my mom's and she had chocolate so I did taste both flavors. The cake was really good and absolutely beautiful (thank you Ana Paz). At 11:15, the party was over. We lingered some while the bellmen loaded the carts with our stuff and then we moved up to the bridal suite, which was literally bigger than my apartment. We were on the intercoastal. It was beautiful. Anthony, Nora, Tyrone, Keith, Toni, and I hung out for a while and Keith tried to help me get Anthony to sleep, but he was belligerent.

Eventually everyone left (Nora with Tyrone... what?!) and Anthony threw up a lot in the bathtub (he needs to chew better, by the way). We got to sleep and woke up the next morning for brunch with my mom, Anthony's mom, Tyrone, Nate and his friend, Anthony's Aunt Jo, and her kids. I nursed my hungover husband to health, we did some packing, we tried to find the missing unity candle, we had dinner with my mom and brother, and we went to see my dad, where we picked up some photos and wished him Happy Father's Day and all that. After all that fun, we went back to the hotel, where we hung out with Anthony mom and her friends, went to the pool with Nate and his friend, and then hit the hay. In the morning, we got up early, went to my mom, packed up the car, and flew off to Jamaica.
